Junior After School

AGE GROUP: 4 – 7 years
RATIO: 1:12
LOCATION: Second Floor, KCCC

Junior After School offers a relaxed environment for 4 to 7 year olds. We aim to create an environment of trust and fun that enables our children’s true personalities to shine, allowing them to choose and enjoy the activities they like most. Children in Junior After School are collected from St Joseph’s National School at 1.50pm and return to the KCCC for a hot dinner prepared by the KCCC’s chef. We then focus on homework for 30 minutes, our children can enjoy free play or activities including painting, clay play, nature walks, movies on Fridays, and on sunny days fun in the green across from the centre. Children who need a little peace and quiet can retreat to our “chill out” room adjoining the After School room.

At the end of each day upon collection we take time to communicate with parents and guardians about their child’s day and raise any concerns we may have.

Parents and guardians please note to label ALL clothing to ensure that if items go missing we can return them to the correct owner.

*Children can also choose to take part in extracurricular activities such as hurling, camogie, drama, ballet and dance. However, the drop offs and collections need to be facilitated by parents/guardians.

How do I apply for a space?

To apply for a space for your child please email the Centre Manager advising of your child’s name, age, current school and year level, and the days you would like your child to attend the after school service. Please also advise the Centre Manager of any extracurricular activities that your child plans to attend during their after school session and the Manager will advise whether this can be accommodated.

Please note once your place in the After School programme and commencement date has been confirmed that payment must be arranged in advance from the date of commencement. Unfortunately, due to extensive waiting lists, we are not able to hold your place if you change your mind, without payment to cover the period between your KCCC offered starting date and your actual commencement date. For full terms and conditions please refer to the Centre’s Handbook, or contact us.
